Former Ambassadors
Samuel Collins - GWU '11
"Being a son of Liberian immigrants, it was cool to talk with other students interested in the African culture. It was also good to learn about other cultures especially at a time when Americans had an ethnocentric stigma attached to them and schools rarely talked about what was happening around the world."

Toronto Alsbrooks - Rochester Institute of Technology '09

Willie Senn - Friendship Collegiate Academy (Plans to attend NC A&T in the fall)
"The Young Ambassadors taught me responsibility and leadership skills.  It also gave me a global perspective through my trip to Ghana."

Michael Christopher Lewis - Lincoln University '09

Dominick Stewart - Paul Lawrence Dunbar SHS

Brian Redmond - US Patent and Trade Mark Office

Che Brown - St. Augustine College '10

Alexander Garcia - Benjamin Banneker IB Academic SHS
"The Young Ambassadors in my eyes should not be called an organization by man, but a blessing by GOD. Not only have I grown and transitioned from a boy to a man by the help of this club but it has helped me find wonderful people that i will consider my brothers eternally. The Young Ambassadors is not only an after school program for young men to attend to but it is also an investment for the road to success."

Odinga Johnson - Calvin Coolidge SHS
"In the 8th grade I took a life changing journey to Ghana. This trip transformed me into an activist. While in Ghana, I spent time with students my age who were wise beyond years. They told me stories of working two jobs and going to school so that they would have food to eat and money for school fees. America promises education and a better life for immigrants and seeing the way Ghanaians work to get a better life, if they had the same resources that we do, they would do much more with it. The Young Ambassadors has developed my leadership skills and made me more compassionate. I have seen beauty, pain, despair, and triumph in Ghana. Ghana will always be with me so Thank You Young Ambassadors and Mr. Ward for making me the man that I am today.  Young Ambassador 2004-life!

Gary Johnson - McKinley Technology HS

Courtney Moore - New School '10

Derek Larry - Pittsburgh '09
"Young Ambassadors gave me a greater understanding and appreciation of not only my own culture but various cultures around the world. It taught me to never be afraid to be myself and to always strive for the best. Through peace, love, and unity YA made me a better person and put me on the right track to be successful in life."

William Cunningham - Forestville Military Academy

Keith Chung - DC Fireman

Raphael Craig - Piney Woods School

Marshall Peele - School Without Walls HS

Naaji Drayton - Wilson  SHS

Thomas Cunningham - Forestville Military Academy

Andre Davis - Lincoln University '11
"Young Ambassadors gave me my first sense of brotherhood and unity for one cause. As a child growing up, there wasn't a sense of brotherhood or unity in the communities. YA gave me my first taste of that, which put down the foundation of responsibility and  righteousness and taught me to REACH(shooting for the stars and never settling for less)."
