The inaugural trip took the Young Ambassadors to Dakar, Senegal where they explored cultural sites, schools and the slave castle at Goree Island. In the subsequent years, the Young Ambassadors have chosen Ghana as the international site because of the ease of travel within Ghana and the use of the English language throughout the country. In the capital, Accra, they have visited schools, adopting King's Palace as their sister school; conducted HIV/AIDS workshops; distributed school supplies; and sponsored students by paying their school fees. They have also paid homage to two exemplary leaders by visiting the home of W.E.B. DuBois and the Kwame Nkrurmah Memorial.

At Cape Coast and Elmina, the students experience the horrors of the Slave Trade by visiting the slave castles at both locations. In Elmina, the Young Ambassadors have been adopted by a local family and are greeted with Ghanaian hospitality and friendship on each trip. This relationship has also allowed the young men to have a more intimate look into the daily life of Ghanaian youth and impacted their lives immensely.
